Virat Kohli is probably the biggest cricketer in modern-day cricket and has some incredible numbers in all three formats. He is the only player with an average of 50 or more and 25,000 international runs. He has also scored 76 international centuries and is only behind Sachin Tendulkar (100).

It’s been 15 years of Virat Kohli in international cricket, and he has achieved a lot that a cricketer dreams of. However, there are some other names in the modern era that are doing brilliant jobs. One such name that is at the top is Pakistan skipper Babar Azam.

The 28-year-old is considered to be the best batter that Pakistan has produced across formats. Babar has been exceptional in the last 4-5 years and has been breaking records. As a result, it has ignited the debate of Virat vs Babar among former cricketers and cricket fans.

However, former Australian cricketer Tom Moody reckons that Babar reminds him of Virat. In a discussion on the Star Sports Show “Game Plan,” Moody spoke on the similarities between Virat and Babar. He said that Babar understands his game pretty well, which Virat has done over the years.

Moody stated, “Babar does remind me very much of Virat Kohli, the way he goes about his business. He seems to understand and read the game very well, which Kohli has done for over a decade. He is a good chaser as well, like Virat Kohli.”

The former Australian star also added that, as the captain of an Asian team, Babar has a lot on his shoulders. But the pressure will be equal on both going into the Asia Cup 2023. The upcoming tournament will start on August 30. Team India will face Pakistan in the first game of the tournament on September 2 in Pallekele. Both teams are in the same group and are likely to face each other again in the group stage. It will be a great tournament for Asian teams ahead of the ODI World Cup.
