The former English batsman Marcus Trescothick had a great start to his Cricketing career as he created a great opening pair with Nick Knight and led his team to many victories. When he was going at the topmost speed of his career, a sudden fallback came, bringing Marcus to a meager level.

During the year 2006, Marcus had the urge to go back home from India, which had hosted the series when he was just 32-year old. Later on, he went on to reveal the reason for the same, which came as depression, and he even retired from this field at the end of that year.

Trescothick stated to the Telegraph that “The depression’s not over. I’m not ‘cured.’ I have good days and bad days, but when the bad days come, I feel they are coming, and I know how to act”.

David Bairstow was also the victim of this mental stress, which he developed post his wife Janet’s health issues. To make the situation worse, he even had a financial crisis, drinking and driving charges imposed on him in 1997. He had a short Cricketing career where he played 25 International matches during the late 90’s era.
