PSL 2024 has started with some exciting matches in Pakistan. Six franchises, namely Quetta Gladiators, Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans are playing in the tournament. Lahore Qalandars have entered the competition as two-time defending champions.
Most of the franchises prefer having youngsters in their squads because the T20 format demands fitness as well as great strength. However, there have some experienced players who have worked on their fitness and ensured that they can compete on the same level as young talents. Here’s a look at the top five oldest players playing in PSL 2024.
5. Kieron Pollard – 36 years and 215 days old
Former West Indies captain Kieron Pollard is a member of the Karachi Kings team in the PSL. Pollard is a legend of the game. He recently won ILT20 with the MI Emirates.
4. Colin Munro – 36 years and 277 days old
New Zealand’s swashbuckling all-rounder Colin Munro is playing for Islamabad United this season. Munro has participated in quite a few PSL seasons and has a lot of experience.
3. Sikandar Raza – 37 years and 233 days old
Zimbabwean all-rounder Sikandar Raza has peaked in 30s. He is a part of almost every T20 league, including PSL, where he plays for defending champions Lahore Qalandars.
2. David Wiese – 38 years and 209 days old
Another experienced player who plays for the Lahore Qalandars in PSL is David Wiese. The Namibian all-rounder is almost 39 years old but is in great shape.
1. Shoaib Malik – 41 years and 315 days old
Even at the age of 41, Shoaib Malik continues to be a draw in T20 leagues. After Bangladesh Premier League, the veteran all-rounder has joined Karachi Kings for the ongoing PSL tournament.
