Delhi Capitals post a decent first-innings total

Although Delhi Capitals started early, CSK was frequently chipping away at the wickets, which did not allow DC to run with the momentum. Prithvi Shaw got to a quick-fire half-century but with Delhi playing one batsman short, they were under pressure when Axar Patel got out.

However, southpaws Shimron Hetmyer and Rishabh Pant displayed maturity to do well against the CSK bowlers. While the West Indian initially took the role of the aggressor, once he had got in, Pant also joined the party. He scored an unbeaten fifty which helped DC post a total of 172 runs in the first innings.

Twitter reacts to Pant’s one-handed six

Pant needs no introduction when it comes to freakish shots. Over his career, both in the Indian Premier League and for Team India, Pant has scored a bundle of them. Against Chennai Super Kings, too, he produced one of them. In the 16th over of the innings, Shardul Thakur bowled a wobbly delivery to Pant. The player attempted the shot but it seems he had a change of mind at the end. Yet, he still went with the shot and hence, in this confusion, one hand came off the bat. The other hand, though, was part of the follow-through. Hence, the ball got all the momentum it needed and went for an 86-metre six. Even Pant seemed to have been surprised by that one-handed six of this. Here are a few Twitter reactions for the same:
