There have been many bad decisions made by franchises over the years. One of them was probably the decision to release Yuzvendra Chahal by the Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB released him ahead of the 2022 auction and didn’t even make much effort to get him back.

That came as a surprise to many because Chahal played with them for eight seasons and was the highest wicket-taker in the tournament. Meanwhile, the veteran leg-spinner has opened up about his snub from the team and said that he was angry and didn’t speak to anyone after that.

In an interaction on Ranveer Allahbadia’s YouTube channel, Chahal said that the franchise promised to go after him at the auction. He added that he felt pretty bad because his IPL journey started in 2013 with RCB, and he played with them for eight long years.

He said, “I was very angry [He was not picked by RCB]. I think I did not speak to the coaches for 2-3 days. Even when I played my first match for RR against RCB, I did not speak to anyone.”

Furthermore, he also admitted that his stint with RCB helped him get his maiden call for Team India, and Virat Kohli showed trust in him from the very beginning, which is why it was weird for him. He also revealed that he was more hurt when he heard about rumors of him asking for more money.

Chahal revealed that he didn’t ask for a certain amount and was more shocked when he didn’t get any calls from them and no one spoke to him. However, he said that it ended well, as he was picked by the Rajasthan Royals at the auction in 2022.

He said that he was happy to be picked by RR because, with them, he became a death bowler, while with RCB, he just used to bowl in the middle overs. He said that he has improved a bit with RR. Chahal played 113 games for RCB and took 139 wickets at an economy rate of 7.58.
