Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli praised off-spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin during the post match presentation ceremony after the Tamil Nadu bowler’s stunning performance against Afghanistan in the T20 World Cup 2021.

During the match against Afghanistan in the T20 World Cup 2021, off break bowler Ravichandran Ashwin made his return to white ball cricket after a huge gap of 4 years, and he didn’t disappoint the captain’s decision.

Ravichandran Ashwin had a great match as the off-spin bowler picked up 2 wickets in his 4 overs and was economical as he only gave away 14 runs only in his mandatory 4 overs.

Indian team captain Virat Kohli praised the off spin bowler after his performance during the post match presentation ceremony. He stated that the return of Ravichandran Ashwin is real positive for Team India. He is a wicket taker and smart bowler and has done so in the IPL, where he has bowled to the big boys.

Ravichandran Ashwin was excluded from the Playing XI for the first 2 matches, mystery bowler Varun Chakravarthy got the nod in those matches, but didn’t do anything spectacular though.

Talking about India vs Afghanistan match, the Virat Kohli’s men were in big pressure going into the match, as just one more loss and India will be out of the T20 World Cup 2021.

Indian opening batsman Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul had only one thing in mind, attack, attack and attack. The opening duo put together a strong partnership of 140 runs in 15 overs before Rohit Sharma got out for 74 runs. Soon after KL Rahul (69 runs of 48 balls) too departed.

Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant then took control of the inning and got past 200 and put 210 runs on the board, Hardik scored 35 runs of 13 balls, while Pant scored 27 runs of 13 balls.

Mohammad Shami picked up the most wicket for India, 3 wickets. Ashwin picked up 2 wickets and 1 wicket each for Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja to wrap Afghanistan for 144 runs. Karim Janat bagged 42 runs of 22 balls, whereas captain Mohammad Nabi amassed 35 runs of 32 balls.

India now next will take on Scotland on the 5th November and then Namibia on the 8th of November. However, their qualification for the semi-final very much depends on New Zealand’s performance, but India will have to keep winning.
