Former Indian cricketer turned cricket expert and commentator Virender Sehwag has spoken on why Indian cricket team dominates the Pakistan cricket team in any ICC events, such as the ODI World Cup or the T20 World Cup.

Virender Sehwag took some time out for an exclusive interview with the ABP News on Monday, where he was asked to respond to a Pakistani news anchor’s remarks about Pakistan “tareekh badal denge” (will change the date).

Virender Sehwag explained that, while Pakistan priorities on giving “big statements” before a big match, the Indian cricket team’s priority is focusing more on practice and preparation, which helps India overcome Pakistan all the time.

He further stated that India never gives big statements, but instead focusing on what is the most important one is, practice and preparation, and thus the Indian team knows what the result will be, no need to give statements.

He continued that India and Pakistan matches has always been on headline due to fact that Pakistan has never managed beat India in ICC events, but he also believes, if not the in ODI, Pakistan has the better chances of defeating India in T20 cricket, given a single player single handedly can win you a match in this format.

Pakistan’s record against India

The Pakistan cricket team has always struggled to beat India in the ICC events. The two neighbours are bitter rival on field but it is always that the latter has walked out victorious. India has defeated Pakistan in T20 World Cup event in 5 out 5 occasions while the scoreline 7-0 in favour of India in the ODI World Cup. It is that in 2017 only when Pakistan defeated India in the ICC Champions Trophy final.

India vs England warm-up match

India got off to a flyer in the T20 World Cup as they defeated the ODI World Champions England in their first warm-up game on the 18th of October.

India were always ahead in the match as they registered a comfortable win with 7 wickets still remaining. It was KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan who shone with the bat, while Mohammed Shami took care of the English batters as he got 3 wickets.

India will next face Australia in another warm-up match on the 20th of October before their high voltage clash against arch-rival Pakistan on the 24th October.
