He named the top five players. At first, he picked Indian captain Rohit Sharma. Rohit was the highest run-scorer in the 2019 World Cup and smashed five centuries. He scored 648 runs in nine innings. For second position, Sehwag picked up veteran Australian opener David Warner.

The left-hander was the second-highest scorer after Rohit. Warner made 647 runs in 10 innings, with three centuries and three half-centuries. The Australian opener was also among the highest scorers in 2015, when Australia won the World Cup under Michael Clarke.

Then, Sehwag picked up the former Indian captain Virat Kohli. Virat has been a prolific run-scorer in 50-over cricket over the years. He was also part of the Indian team that won the 2011 World Cup. In 2019, he scored 443 runs in nine innings with five half-centuries.

As his fourth pick, Sehwag had a surprise name. He picked New Zealand’s star, Glenn Philips. Notably, Philips hasn’t played a World Cup match and has scored 351 runs in 16 ODIs. Last but not least, Sehwag picked the ace Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah as his fifth pick. Bumrah was India’s highest wicket-taker in 2019 with 18 wickets in nine matches.
