When India batted on Day 4 in their second innings, there were rough areas, where the ball would turn. At the end of the innings, the pitch rollers did their job. The pitch became flatter to bat on, and the duo of Alex Lees and Zak Crawley troubled the Indian pacers a lot.

At the end of the day’s play, England finished with 259/3 on the board. The home team needs 119 runs on the final day with seven wickets in hand. If they win the match, they will deny the Indian cricket team a chance to win the series despite having a 2-1 lead right now.

Wasim Jaffer thought that India could win the match if the first session of Day 3 went in their favor

Earlier this week, Wasim Jaffer had an interaction with ESPNCricinfo, where he had opined that the Indian cricket team could win the game if the opening session on Day 3 went in their favor. While India did a decent job on Day 3, it does not look like they are the favorites to win heading into Day 5.

“(On whether despite the rain, India will win the Test) Yes, if the first session on Day 3 goes India’s way, then I feel India can win the Test match,” Jaffer had said.
