Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar are two of the greatest players of different generations. Sachin was probably the greatest batsmen of all time who has played the game. He has some records which are impossible to break for other players.
He holds the record for most runs, most centuries, most matches and most half-centuries. Adding to that it is just impossible for a playert to play for 24 years that Sachin did at the interanational level. On the other hand, Virat Kohli is another superstar and arguably the biggest name in modernday cricket across formats.
He is chasing Sachin in many records, including the most international century. That is the reason that he often compared to the master blaster. Though Virat himself feels that the comparison between him and Sachin is not fair at all because he has dominated the cricket world for more than two decades,
However, former Indan opener Wasim Jaffer also believes that there is no comparison between the two icons. He also said that Virat had a number of faults in his game in his initial career, but he has worked hard to reach this position. He also added that with Sachin, he played against some of the biggest names since his early days, which makes him a legend of the game.
In a discussion with Sports Launchpad, Jaffer said, “Sachin was a different player altogether. Other than just being talented, he was hardworking, but I don’t think Virat was very talented. Sachin was different. Playing international cricket and facing Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, and Courtney Walsh at the age of 15–16. So, Sachin is in a different league, but Virat is definitely the best player of this generation.”
Virat Kohli will be back in action on September 2, when India will face Pakistan in their opening match of the Asia Cup 2023. The former Indian captain is in great form and will look to carry that form forward. His numbers against Pakistan are incredible, and every Indian fan wants him to fire once again.
