England cricket team captain Jos Buttler has gotten off to a disappointing start as the full-time captain of the English white-ball squads. First, the England cricket team suffered a 1-2 defeat in the three-match T20I series against the Indian cricket team, and earlier today, for the first time in ODI cricket history, England lost a match against Team India by 10 wickets.

Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to have a field first in London today. Fast bowlers Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna were on fire as they took all 10 wickets and helped the Indian cricket team bowl the England cricket team out for just 110 runs.

The opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan added 114 runs for the first wicket to ensure that the Indian cricket team won the match by 10 wickets. Speaking on England’s disappointing show in London, captain Jos Buttler said at the post-match presentation:

“A really tough day. We came third in a two-horse race there. We have to buck up and do well on Thursday. We thought it would swing a little bit and then ease out but India bowled really well in the powerplay. I’m not sure. That’s something we need to work out. We’ve got some guys in the form of their lives getting nicked out.”

Jos Buttler was the top-scorer for the England cricket team in the first ODI of the series against the Indian cricket team

While the England cricket team had a forgettable day in the office, Buttler still did a decent job with the willow. He scored 30 runs off 32 deliveries before handing a catch to Suryakumar Yadav off Mohammed Shami’s bowling. His 30-run knock helped the England cricket team cross the 100-run mark.

The second ODI of the series will happen on July 14. It will be interesting to see how the England cricket team perform in the next game.
