Indian players are currently auditioning for a place in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The BCCI will have to announce a 15-man squad for the mega event in the coming weeks, and it seems like eight to nine Indian players have confirmed their berth in that tournament.

The remaining spots are still vacant and will be decided in the upcoming bilateral matches. In the last one month, Team India has played a total of 10 T20I matches against Ireland, South Africa and England. The following five players have reduced their chances of making it to the T20 World Cup with their disappointing show in the recent T20I matches.

    1. Virat Kohli is one of the Indian players who let the fans down

Virat Kohli has had a forgettable 2022 year so far as a cricketer. In the two T20Is he played against England, he lost his wicket cheaply. Captain Rohit Sharma has backed him, but many fans felt that Deepak Hooda could have batted at number three after his splendid show.

    2. Umran Malik is one of the Indian players who let the fans down

Fans had high hopes from Umran Malik when he made his debut for India after winning the IPL Emerging Player award. However, he bowled expensive spells in the three games that he played, and it seems unlikely that he will be on the flight to Australia.

    3. Axar Patel is one of the Indian players who let the fans down

Axar Patel had a great IPL season with DC, but in eight T20Is this year, he has scored 40 runs and took three wickets. The team management has given him chances to prove himself but Axar has failed to produce a match-winning performance.

    4. Ruturaj Gaikwad

IPL 2021 Orange Cap winner Ruturaj Gaikwad had an outside chance of making it to the T20 World Cup. However, he had an average series against South Africa and then he got injured against Ireland.

    5. Shreyas Iyer

Short deliveries have troubled Shreyas Iyer a lot in 2022. He was in great touch against Sri Lanka earlier this year, but looking at his recent performances, it seems unlikely that he may make it to the T20 World Cup team.
