The stars of the future generation are ready to battle it out for glory in the upcoming ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2022, taking place in West Indies from the 14th January.
U19 Cricket World Cup is the place where the future stars are made. Some of the most notable names to have featured in the competition includes Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Kane Williamson, Trent Boult, Steve Smith and there are more than a ton of names.
U19 Cricket World Cup is back again with the next generation’s star set to battle for the ultimate glory. The ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2022 begins from the 14th of January in the Caribbean.
The competition will feature a total of 16 teams being divided to 4 groups of 4 teams. A total of 48 matches will be played throughout the U19 World Cup 2022, with the Grand Final set to take place on the 5th of February.
Bangladesh is the defending champions of the tournament after having beaten Team India in the final when the tournament was last held in 2020.
ICC U19 World Cup 2022 Groups
The hosts West Indies have been put in Group D with Australia, Scotland and Sri Lanka. Group A consists of Bangladesh, Canada, UAE and England. Team India have been grouped with Uganda, South Africa and Ireland in Group B, while Group C has Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Papua New Guinea.
Each teams will face off each other once in the group stage, with the top two from each groups progressing to the Quarter-Final, followed by the Semi-Final and the Final.
While the bottom two placed teams from each group will play in a plate round, and the winner of the Plate Final will finish as the 9th placed team, and the runner-up as 10th. The others teams’ position will also be determined as such.
When will the U19 World Cup 2022 be Played ?
The ICC U19 World Cup 2022 will be played from the 14th January, till the 5th of February. Each matches will begin from 6:30 PM Indian Standard Time.
