The England men’s cricket team does not have a permanent head coach at the moment as their previous coach Chris Silverwood is not continuing after the Ashes debacle. Justin Langer, who was the coach of the Australian side that crushed England 4-0 at home, is a contender to become the next head coach of England, as per Adam Gilchrist.

During his appearance on The Shackles Are Off podcast, Adam said that Justin Langer is hurt because of the recent developments that happened in Australian cricket. Many fans thought Langer would continue as the head coach after winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 and the Ashes 2021-22. However, he resigned because of some off-field reasons.

As per Adam, Langer’s work ethic is similar to England all-rounder Ben Stokes, and he believes it would be awesome to see the duo working together for the success of the team.

I think Justin Langer would be a good fit: Adam Gilchrist gives his opinion on England’s head coach debate

The Australian team was undergoing a transition when Langer took over, and he transformed them into a champion team. Adam Gilchrist feels the current situation of England demands someone like Langer as he said:

“I don’t say this in a provocative sense, but I do look at the setup at the moment with England and think he would be a good fit. It would be awesome to see Justin Langer working with Ben Stokes.”

It will be interesting to see who becomes the next head coach of the England men’s cricket team in the coming days.
