Team India has won both Test and ODI series on their tour of the West Indies. Meanwhile, the five-match T20I series will start on August 3 (Thursday) at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad. For the visitors, there have been some good performances by the Indian players.

However, Ishan Kishan is one of the most consistent batters on this tour. The left-hander has smashed four consecutive half-centuries across Tests and ODIs. He scored fifty in all three ODIs of the series, which helped him join an elite list of batters.

He joined the likes of MS Dhoni, Mohammed Azharuddin, and Dilip Vengsarkar, who have also done it previously in their careers. On the other hand, Ishan was involved in a hilarious conversation with former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra, who was doing commentary during the game, when the wicketkeeper made a stumping appeal.

On air, Aakash said that it was pretty rare to see a keeper appeal for a stumping and run-out at the same time. Then he said, “You can come from Ranchi, but your name is not MS Dhoni.” The 25-year-old heard it from stump-mic and responded, “Ha, fir thik hai. (Then it’s okay).”

To that, Aakash replied, “How sweet Ishan. We love you.” The former opener also shared the video of that moment on his social media handle. Notably, the 25-year-old was also adjudged “Man of the Series” for his consistency throughout the ODI series. Though he won the award, he said that he was not happy and was not able to convert his starts into big ones.

The 25-year-old scored 184 runs in three innings at an average of 61.33 and a strike rate of 111.52, with three half-centuries. He will be back in action on Thursday in the first game of the T20I series. In the absence of seniors, he will be opening the innings along with Shubman Gill.
