ICC World Cup 2023 has started in India. 10 teams namely England, Australia, South Africa, India, Pakistan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Netherlands, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are participating in this competition.
All the 10 teams have announced strong squads for this competition. The teams have preferred a combination of youth and experience in the ICC World Cup 2023. Now we will look at the youngest and oldest cricketer of all the 10 squads.
1. England
All-rounder Moeen Ali is the oldest member of England’s squad. He is 36 years and 107 days old. The youngest player is Harry Brook, who is only 24 years old.
2. Australia
Australian opener David Warner is the oldest player of team is almost 37 years old. All-rounder Cameron Green is the youngest, aged 24.
3. India
Ravichandran Ashwin is the oldest player in the Indian squad. He is 37 years and 16 days old. Opening batter Shubman Gill is the youngest. He is 24 years old.
4. New Zealand
In the New Zealand team, the oldest player is Tim Southeem who is 34 years and 296 years old. The youngest player is all-rounder Rachin Ravindra, who is 23 years and 319 days old.
5. South Africa
South Africa have selected Rassie van der Dussen, who is the oldest player in the team. He is 34 years and 238 days old. The youngest player is Gerald Coetzee, who recently completed 23 years.
6. Netherlands
Netherlands made a surprise entry in the competition. In the dutch squad, the oldest player is Wesley Barressi, who is 39 years old. He is also the oldest player in the ICC World Cup 2023. The youngest player is Aryan Dutt, who is 20 years and 144 days old.
7. Pakistan
Fakhar Zaman is the oldest player in the Pakistan squad. He is 33 years and 176 days old. Fast bowler Mohammed Wasim, who is 22 years old is the youngest member.
8. Bangladesh
Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan is the oldest player of the team. He is 36 years and 93 years old. The youngest player is Tanzid Hasan Sakib, who is 20 years and 348 years old.
9. Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka also have a young squad. Their youngest player is Dunith Wellalage, who is 20 years and 267 days old old. The oldest player is opener Dimuth Karunaratne, who is 35 years and 165 days old.
10. Afghanistan
Afghanistan has selected 18-year-old Noor Ahmad in their squad. He is the youngest player in the ICC World Cup 2023. The oldest player of Afghanistan is Mohammed Nabi who is, 38 years and 275 days old.
