MS Dhoni led the Chennai Super Kings from 2008 to 2015 and then from 2018 to 2021. In those 12 seasons, CSK qualified for the playoffs 11 times. They won the trophy four times. Most importantly, many players had their best seasons with the Chennai Super Kings.

Every member of the cricket universe feels that Dhoni knows the art of bringing the best out of every player. Devon Conway was excited about playing under him for the first time in IPL 2022. However, just two days before the season began, Dhoni handed over the reins of the team to all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

It was really cool: Devon Conway reflects on his conversation with MS Dhoni

Here’s what Conway, who made his debut for the Chennai Super Kings last Saturday against the Kolkata Knight Riders, said:

“I was wanting to play under the great MS as captain. I had a nice little conversation with him. I said, ‘you’re sure you don’t want to captain one more season so I can play under you as captain?’ But he said, ‘no, but I am always going to be around anyways. It was really cool’.”
