Rajasthan Royals leg-spin bowler Yuzvendra Chahal recently gave an interesting reply to famous cricket commentator Aakash Chopra. The former Indian opener tweeted that if a batter smashes a ball 100 meters far then he should get 8 runs for that instead of the traditional six.

However, Chahal was not satisfied with the suggestion as he came up with a new rule that would favor the bowlers as well. The leg-spinner said that if the batters get two more runs for smashing a ball 100 meters far, then even a bowler should get a wicket if he bowls three dot balls.

Many fans have reckoned that the new rules of cricket heavily favor the batters. If the rule suggested by Aakash Chopra is also added, then again, the balance will move in the favor of the batters.

“100+ metre six should be given an 8,” Aakash Chopra tweeted. “Three dot balls should be 1 wicket bhaiya,” Yuzvendra Chahal replied.

Three wickets in a spell should allow the bowler to bowl an extra over: Aakash Chopra replied to Yuzvendra Chahal

Aakash Chopra took note of the suggestion made by Yuzvendra as he replied to him and said that, if a 100 meters six is an eight then the batters would try to take more risks, which will help the bowlers get more wickets. Also, he suggested that if a bowler takes three wickets in a spell, he should get an extra over.

However, the question here is if a bowler takes his third wicket on the final ball of the 19th or 20th over, then how he would bowl the extra over.

“Three wickets in a spell should allow the bowler to bowl an extra over also, Imagine someone trying to hit you for a 100-metre six (because it’s an 8), good chance that he’ll lose shape…risk-reward,” Chopra replied.
