10 Indian players who have been a part of the T10 League

T10 cricket has become the newest format of the game. Earlier, there were only three significant formats in cricket, namely Test, ODI, and T20s. However, the United Arab Emirates introduced T10s and got approval from the International Cricket Council to host a T10 League featuring players from across the planet. The fourth edition of the T10 League will happen at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in 2021.

This tournament will kick off from 28th January and go on till 6th February. Last year, the Maratha Arabians won the trophy, and the event featured some notable names like DJ Bravo, Lasith Malinga, Dawid Malan, Shane Watson, Kieron Pollard, Chris Lynn, and others. This year also some big names will play in the T10 League.

This article will look at those ten Indian players who have associated themselves with the T10 League.

10. Zaheer Khan

One of the biggest names to appear on this list is the former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan. The left-arm fast bowler played in the T10 League during the 2018 and the 2019 season.

Khan played for the Bengal Tigers in 2018, scalping two wickets in three matches. In the 2019 season, Zaheer played for the Delhi Bulls and had the same statistics.

9. Prashant Gupta

Uttar Pradesh’s spin bowler Prashant Gupta could never receive an IPL contract in his career. But he will be a part of the T10 League for the second consecutive year.

The Deccan Gladiators signed him in the 2019 season. Before the 2021 Draft, they released him without giving him a game. However, he will be a part of the Gladiators in 2021 as they signed him again.

8. Virender Sehwag 

Former Indian captain Virender Sehwag was one of the T10 League’s top promoters during the tournament’s early days. Sehwag played for the Maratha Arabians in 2017.

Surprisingly, Sehwag could not score a single run in the two matches he played. The right-handed batsman has been away from the tournament since 2017.

7. Yuvraj Singh 

Another 2011 World Cup winner to appear on this list is the former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh. The southpaw played for the Maratha Arabians in T10 League 2019.

As mentioned earlier, the Arabians won the league last year. Singh played five matches for the franchise, scoring 44 runs at a strike rate of 169.23.

6. Pravin Tambe 

Pravin Tambe lost his IPL 2020 contract because he had played for the Sindhis in the T10 League. In case you didn’t know, Tambe even took a hat-trick in the T10 format.

The veteran player will be in action in the upcoming season of the T10 League as well. The Maratha Arabians secured Tambe’s services in the 2021 Draft.

5. Munaf Patel 

Munaf Patel is the fourth name from the legendary ICC World Cup 2011 team to feature. The right-arm medium pacer played for the Rajputs in the 2018 T10 League.

He represented the Rajputs in five matches, taking five wickets, with his best figures being 3/20. Recently, Patel also played in the Lanka Premier League.

4. Praveen Kumar 

Former Mumbai Indians pace bowler Praveen Kumar represented multiple franchises in the T10 League. Praveen was a part of the Punjabi Legends team in T10 League 2018.

Kumar enjoyed incredible success in the game’s newest format. He played only three games for the Punjabi Legends and scalped six wickets.

3. Subramaniam Badrinath

Former Chennai Super Kings middle-order batsman Subramaniam Badrinath was a part of the Maratha Arabians squad in the 2018 season. That was his only T10 League season.

Badrinath got a place in the playing XI for three matches. Unfortunately, he did not get an opportunity to bat or bowl in the three games.

2. RP Singh 

RP Singh was a part of the Indian cricket team that won the ICC T20 World Cup in South Africa thirteen years ago. He played in the T10 League for the Pakhtoons in 2018.

Singh played five matches for the T10 League franchise and scalped three wickets. His economy rate was 12.38, while his best figures were 2/14.

1. Reetinder Singh Sodhi 

The last name to appear on this list is the former Indian all-rounder Reetinder Singh Sodhi. Even he featured in the 2018 edition of the T10 League.

Sodhi played for the Kerala Knights in that competition. He played three matches and bowled one over for his team, where he gave away 10 runs.
