T20I format is considered the toughest one for the bowlers in international cricket. The batters look to attack right from the word ‘go’, and to make things difficult for the bowlers, the bats have become thicker, while most of the venues have batter-friendly surfaces plus smaller boundaries.

The T20I format is difficult, but there have been some bowlers who have cracked the code to success in this form of the game as well. Bowling even one maiden over in the shortest format of the game is a challenge, but here’s a list of two such bowlers who bowled all four overs as maiden overs, meaning they did not concede even one run.

1. Lockie Ferguson bowled 4 maiden overs in T20 World Cup match against Papua New Guinea

New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson has become the first bowler in T20 World Cup history to bowl four maiden overs in a single match. The Kiwis are up against rookies Papua New Guinea in Tarouba right now, where Ferguson achieved the feat.

The right-arm pacer bowled four overs and did not concede even one run. He even bagged the wickets of Assad Vala, Charles Amini and Chad Soper to finish with dream figures of 3/0.

2. Saad bin Zafar

Current Canada captain Saad bin Zafar was the first bowler to achieve this dream feat of bowling four maiden overs in a T20I match. It was against Panama in the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifiers of the Americas region in 2021.

Zafar was the fifth bowler introduced into the attack, and he finished with figures of 2/0 in four overs. He dismissed Dineshbhai Ahir and Mohamad Sohel Patel to help the Canadian team win the match by 208 runs. It will be interesting to see if any other bowler can join Lockie Ferguson and Saad bin Zafar on this elite list in the coming years.
