1. Pakistan-born Usman Khawaja is playing in Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024

Australia’s left-handed batter Usman Khawaja was born in Pakistan. He started his cricketing journey in Pakistan but later moved to Australia and became a professional cricketer for the Aussies. Having achieved so much success in the longer formats of cricket, Khawaja will hold the key to Australia’s success in the ongoing series.

2. Josh Inglis was born in England

Josh Inglis is a backup wicketkeeper for Alex Carey, present in the Australian squad for the 1st Test. Inglis recently captained Australia in a T20I series against Pakistan and led the Aussies to a 3-0 win. Notably, Inglis was born in Australia’s arch-rival country England. He was born in Leeds, Yorkshire on March 4, 1995.

3. Marnus Labuschagne was born in South Africa

Australia’s squad for the 1st Test of Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 features players from four different continents. A majority of the players are from Australia only, Usman Khawaja hails from Asia, Josh Inglis is from Europe, while Marnus Labuschagne is from Africa. The all-rounder was born in North West Province of South Africa.
