IPL 2025 is just around the corner, and the coaches of all teams recently met in Saudi Arabia for the mega auction. Generally, the coaches do not play cricket actively because they are around the age of 40 or sometimes even in their 50s or 60s. However, the modern era of cricket allows the coaches to push their careers as active players by playing in T10 format.

There are multiple such cricketers, who are coaches of IPL 2025 teams, but they are playing in other leagues happening across the globe. Here’s a list of five such names.

1. One of the new IPL 2025 coaches – Dinesh Karthik

Until last IPL season, Dinesh Karthik was playing for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru team. He announced retirement after the tournament ended and then inked a deal as a batting coach and mentor of RCB. Besides, he is playing in Abu Dhabi T10 and SA20 for Bangla Tigers and Paarl Royals, respectively now.

2. One of the experienced IPL 2025 coaches – Pravin Tambe

Leg-spinner Pravin Tambe owns the record for the oldest debutant in IPL history. He is a part of the Lucknow Super Giants backroom staff as the spin bowling coach. Tambe played in Legends League for India Capitals in 2023.

3. Kieron Pollard

Kieron Pollard ended his IPL career after Mumbai Indians did not retain him for the 2023 season. He decided to become the team’s batting coach, but he has continued to play in all other leagues, including for MI teams in SA20 and ILT20.

4. Jonty Rhodes

Jonty Rhodes is the fielding coach of the Lucknow Super Giants team in IPL. The South African superstar retired from international cricket long back, but he does not miss a chance to play on the field in the exhibition matches and tournaments of retired players.

5. Parthiv Patel

The new assistant coach of Gujarat Titans team, Parthiv Patel is also active in Legends League tournament. In fact, last year, Patel turned up for the Adani Sportsline-owned Gujarat Giants team in the Legends League 2023.
