Pat Cummins is celebrating his birthday today. The Australian cricket team captain made history in 2023 as he led his nation to the ICC World Test Championship title and ICC ODI World Cup triumph. He is currently leading the Sunrisers Hyderabad and has done a phenomenal job as skipper.
“There was definitely a belief. We did feel 50-50, but they were running hot. They played an amazing tournament but are a side we have beaten before… a lot. They beat us in Round one, but we kind of thought if we have our day and play really well, we’ve got the guys in the team to do it,” Cummins recently said about the WC 2023 Final.
Cummins has had a long career, where he has learned a lot of things the hard way. Also, the pace-bowling all-rounder owns some interesting records, some of which might never ever be broken.

1. Pat Cummins has the fastest fifty in IPL among all foreign players
So many talented overseas batters have participated in the IPL, but it might amaze the fans that Cummins owns the record for the fastest half-century by a foreigner in this competition. Back in 2022, when Cummins was a member of the Kolkata Knight Riders team, he demolished the Mumbai Indians by scoring 50 runs off just 14 balls.
So many explosive innings have been played by the batters in IPL 2024. However, no foreigner has broken the record held by Cummins.
2. Highest wickets in a Test series without a 5fer
When a bowler finishes with 29 wickets in a Test series, many fans assume that he would have taken multiple five-wicket hauls in the series. However, Cummins is different. Back in 2019, when Australia took on England in the Ashes series, he finished with 29 wickets without a single five-wicket haul to his name.
