Chennai Super Kings did not have the best outing in IPL 2023 this week. CSK played two matches and lost both games. They first suffered a defeat at the hands of the Rajasthan Royals and then lost a nail-biting thriller against the Punjab Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Speaking of the match between the Chennai Super Kings and the Punjab Kings which happened earlier today, the Super Kings scored 200 runs in 20 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat first. Before this game, no team had chased a 200-run target against Chennai at Chepauk, which is why CSK were the overwhelming favorites to win.

However, Punjab Kings batted brilliantly and brought the equation down to three runs from one ball. Sikandar Raza and Shahrukh Khan ran three on the last ball as PBKS completed a historic win at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Having suffered their second consecutive defeat in IPL 2023, the Chennai Super Kings might make some changes to their playing XI. Here’s a list of two changes which they might make:

    1. Ben Stokes in for Moeen Ali

Ben Stokes was bought by CSK for 16.25 crore. It seems like he is fit now and should be available to play. Stokes is a world-class player who can destroy any bowling lineup in the world once he gets going. With Devon Conway performing so well, Chennai may have to drop Moeen Ali.

Ali has picked up only two wickets and failed to touch the 25-run mark in each of his last five matches. Hence, CSK may consider dropping him now.

    2. Rajvardhan Hangargekar in for Akash Singh

Rajvardhan Hangargekar was quite impressive in the first few matches for the Chennai-based franchise. If he is fit and available to play, Rajvardhan should replace Akash Singh in the team. In case Deepak Chahar is ready, even he can take Akash’s place.
