Sunrisers Hyderabad have the most explosive batting lineup in this season, but SRH could not bring their best to the table in the IPL 2024 match against the Kolkata Knight Riders. It is the Qualifier 1 match of the season, being played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

SRH won the toss and opted to bat first in the high-pressure match. Kolkata Knight Riders’ star fast bowler Mitchell Starc upped his game on the day it mattered the most and dismissed Travis Head, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Shahbaz Ahmed in quick succession. Abhishek Sharma could not contribute much as well, which is why the inexperience in the SRH middle-order got exposed on a grand occasion tonight.

Irrespective of whether they win or lose tonight, the Sunrisers Hyderabad must make the following two changes to their playing XI for their next IPL 2024 match.

    1. SRH should bring back Aiden Markram in their IPL 2024 playing XII

Aiden Markram is an experienced cricketer. The Qualifier 2 and Final will happen at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, and Markram will be a useful batter in those conditions. Perhaps, Hyderabad can leave out Vijayakanth Viyaskanth for Markram. In the bowling unit, they can add someone like Mayank Markande, Umran Malik or Jaydev Unadkat.

Markram can be a great option instead of Sanvir Singh, who does not have much experience. Singh got out for a golden duck in the Qualifier 1 match against KKR.

    2. Washington Sundar in for Shahbaz Ahmed

Shahbaz Ahmed has performed well in patches this season, but he could not deliver the goods with the bat in the Qualifier 1 match against the Kolkata Knight Riders. SRH have an experienced option in the form of Washington Sundar, who is sitting on the bench. Sundar also bats left-handed and can bowl right-arm off-spin. Thus, he can replace Ahmed.
