Defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) suffered their first defeat of IPL 2024 last night against the Delhi Capitals in Vizag. The CSK batters failed to chase down a 192-run target set by DC, who were playing their first home match of the season.
Now, CSK will head to Hyderabad for a clash against Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad. It will be a tough challenge for CSK because just a few days back, SRH scored 277 runs against the Mumbai Indians at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.

1. CSK might give Moeen Ali his first match in IPL 2024
Daryl Mitchell has received a place in the playing XI ahead of Moeen Ali in all three matches of IPL 2024 so far. It is probably because CSK spent an enormous amount of money to sign Mitchell. However, CSK left out Maheesh Theekshana recently to accommodate both Mustafizur Rahman and Matheesha Pathirana in the playing XI.
It left CSK without an off-spinner in the team. Even Mitchell bowls right-arm pace. Hence, CSK can think of bringing off-spin all-rounder Moeen Ali in place of Mitchell for a few matches.
2. MS Dhoni must bat up the order
MS Dhoni comes out to bat below Ravindra Jadeja and Sameer Rizvi for CSK. It is probably too low for the CSK wicketkeeper, who is still in fine touch. In the match against DC last night, Dhoni scored 37 off 16. Many fans felt that had Dhoni come out to bat higher up the order, CSK could have won the match.
