Mitchell Starc is one of the best fast bowlers in ODI cricket history. The left-arm pace bowler from Australia has made a name for himself with his consistent performances in the 50-over format of the game. Starc is currently in India, playing for the Australian cricket team in a three-match ODI series against the Men in Blue.
So far, two matches have happened in the series, and in both the matches, Starc has troubled the Indian cricket team’s batters a lot. Suryakumar Yadav, who is the world number one T20I batter, has struggled to pick his deliveries and got out on golden duck twice against the express pace bowled by Starc.
Apart from Yadav, Mitchell Starc also dismissed Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj to complete his five-wicket haul. Fans should note that this was the ninth time Mitchell took a five-wicket haul for the Australian cricket team in ODI cricket since the year 2012.
Fast bowlers of top teams like West Indies and Sri Lanka have managed total nine five-wicket hauls in ODIs since 2012, while the following two nations have registered less five-wicket hauls than Starc in the last decade.
1. Indian bowlers have a combined number of five-wicket hauls less than Mitchell Starc since 2012
The Indian bowlers have struggled to take wickets consistently in ODI cricket over the last few years. Many teams have destroyed the Indian bowling lineup with their intent and aggressive approach. The fact that all the Indian fast bowlers have managed a total of only six five-wicket hauls in ODIs since 2012 highlights the aforementioned fact. It is three less than what Starc alone has managed.
2. South Africa

It is quite surprising to see South Africa on this list. The Proteas have been home to some of the best fast bowlers in the game. However, even their fast bowlers have managed seven five-wicket hauls since 2012, which is two less than what Starc has achieved.
