The Kolkata Knight Riders have now expanded their franchises list. They were the first IPL franchise to buy a team in the Caribbean Premier League as they picked up the Trinidad and Tobago franchise. It is now known as the Trinbago Knight Riders. They also have a team in the women’s CPL.
Besides, KKR have also invested in UAE’s International League T20 and USA’s Major League Cricket. In ILT20, their team is known as the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders. Speaking of UAE, the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2022 started yesterday in Abu Dhabi, and there are two players who are a part of KKR IPL 2023 squad, who will be playing in this league. Here’s a list of those two names.
1. New KKR player Rahmanullah Gurbaz
Afghanistan’s wicket-keeper batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz is yet to play an IPL match. He joined the Gujarat Titans as a replacement for Jason Roy in last season, but he only warmed the benches. This year, Gujarat traded him out to the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Gurbaz plays for another Indian city-based franchise, and its name is Delhi Bulls in Abu Dhabi T10 League 2022. The right-handed batter was retained by the Delhi Bulls for the new season.
2. Andre Russell
West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell has become an icon player in the shorter formats. The West Indies star is a member of the Deccan Gladiators team. It is pertinent to note that India Legend Suresh Raina is also a part of this franchise, while the captain of the team is Nicholas Pooran. It will be exciting to see how the KKR players perform in this tournament.
