World Cup Final is perhaps the grandest stage for a cricketer to display his talent in the international arena. The entire cricket universe follows the match because the winner of that game becomes the world champion. The players of the winning team are immortalized as world championship winners.

India is among the few nations to win the Cricket World Cup, T20 World Cup, ICC Champions Trophy and also achieve the top ranking in Test matches. Without a strong bowling attack, no team in the world can achieve this feat.

Over the years, there have been two such bowlers in Indian cricket who bowled the last ball of their international careers for the Indian team in a World Cup Final. Here’s a list of the two names:

    1. Joginder Sharma bowled his last ball in T20 World Cup 2007 Final

Former Indian all-rounder Joginder Sharma announced retirement from all formats of cricket earlier this month. The pace-bowling all-rounder played his last match against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2007. MS Dhoni entrusted him with the responsibility of bowling the last over, and Sharma picked up Misbah-ul-Haq’s wicket to help India win the tournament.

Quite surprisingly, Sharma never made it to the Indian team after the final against the Pakistan cricket team. As mentioned ahead, he has decided to hang up his boots now.

    2. Javagal Srinath

Javagal Srinath was once the lead pace bowler of the Indian cricket team. He played his last tournament for the Indian cricket team in the year 2003, with his last appearance coming in the final match of the WC played that year.

Srinath had a disastrous outing against the Australian cricket team on that day as he bowled a spell of 0/83 in his 10 overs. It proved to be his last match for the Indian cricket team.
