ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled to happen in June later this year, with the co-hosts of the mega event being the United States and the West Indies. The Indian cricket team is one of the 20 participants in this mega event, and it is likely that they will become the world champions this time.
Speaking of Team India, the Men in Blue recently played an ODI World Cup on home soil, where they remained undefeated until the final. Australia beat India in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium to become the new world champions in ODI format.
The likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami will likely play for India in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 as well, but the following two Indian bowlers who played in the 2023 WC may not get a chance this year.
1. Kuldeep Yadav might be in reserves for ICC T20 World Cup 2024
Kuldeep Yadav is one of the best left-arm wrist-spinners in the world, but he was ineffective in the 2023 World Cup Final. Also, Ravi Bishnoi has edged ahead of Yadav in the race to the T20 WC 2024. If Bishnoi is the main leg-spinner, along with all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar, then Kuldeep might have to settle with a place in the reserves.
Yadav will have to wait for his turn because Bishnoi has been outstanding for India in recent matches. Also, Jadeja and Sundar bring variety to the squad.
2. Prasidh Krishna
Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna joined the Indian squad as a replacement in ICC World Cup 2023. He replaced Hardik Pandya in the squad but did not get a single chance to play. After the World Cup, Krishna has played a few international matches for India, where he has let the fans down. It is unlikely that the Rajasthan Royals fast bowler will make the cut to the Indian squad.
