Legends League Masters 2023 started last Friday in Qatar. Three teams, namely India Maharajas, World Giants and Asia Lions are playing in this tournament. A majority of the players in all three squads played international cricket at the senior level at least once in their careers.
Several Indian legends like Suresh Raina, Gautam Gambhir, Sreesanth, Harbhajan Singh, Praveen Kumar, Pragyan Ojha, Murali Vijay and Robin Uthappa are playing in this tournament. All the aforementioned names have played at least one international match in their careers. Some of them even captained India and also won a World Cup during their careers.
However, a couple of India Maharajas squad members never played international cricket at the senior level. Here’s a list of those two names.
1. Manvinder Bisla is playing in Legends League Cricket 2023
Former Kolkata Knight Riders wicket-keeper batter Manvinder Bisla is a part of the India Maharajas squad for the Legends League in 2023. Bisla played for India at the U-19 level, but he never got to play at the senior level for the Men in Blue.
Speaking of his stats in the Indian Premier League, Bisla played total 39 matches for Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders. His best performances came in the KKR jersey, with the most memorable being the half-century against Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2012 Final.
Bisla has announced retirement from all formats of domestic cricket. He played for Gujarat Giants in LLC season 2 last year and is playing for India Maharajas in LLC Masters now.
2. Pravin Tambe
Pravin Tambe’s career took off at a very late stage in his life. Still, he managed to achieve a lot of success while playing for the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League. Tambe played 33 games in IPL for RR and Gujarat Lions, scalping 28 wickets. He took a hat-trick for RR.
After retirement from IPL, Tambe has played in multiple leagues. He is currently playing for the India Maharajas team in Legends League Masters 2023.
