T20 cricket is the most exciting format of the game. There have been some unimaginable twists and turns in the recent T20 matches. The leagues have become so popular than millions of fans stop what they are doing and follow the live action wherever they can.
The introduction of T20 leagues has made the lives of many cricketers simpler as well, with many players earning crores of rupees by playing for two months. However, to earn those contracts, the players need to commit themselves to the game and work the hardest they can. Still, it is not guaranteed that they will achieve success.
In the past, many parents were reluctant to allow their children to pursue sports as a career. However, the trend has changed, and fans have even seen pairs of brothers playing together for the same nation. In the era of T20 leagues, it is not new to see the brothers playing against each other as well.
However, it is a rare sight to see a pair of brothers walking out for the toss as captains against each other. It has happened only twice in T20 cricket history, and here’s a list of those two instances.
1. Hardik and Krunal Pandya become first brothers’ pair to lead teams against each other in IPL T20 cricket
Yesterday afternoon in Ahmedabad, Hardik and Krunal Pandya made history by becoming the first pair of brothers to come out for the toss in an Indian Premier League match. Hardik was the captain of the Gujarat Titans team yesterday, while Krunal led the Lucknow Super Giants.
2. David and Michael Hussey played against each other as captains in BBL
The only other pair of brothers to captain two different teams in a T20 match before the Pandya brothers were Michael Hussey and David Hussey. They accomplished the feat twice in the Big Bash League. David led the Melbourne Stars against Michael’s Sydney Thunder.
