The Pune-based franchise performed well in the 2017 edition of the Indian Premier League. They made it to the final, where they lost to the Mumbai Indians by just one run. Some big names like MS Dhoni, Faf du Plessis, Kevin Pietersen, Ajinkya Rahane, Steve Smith, Ravichandran Ashwin and Imran Tahir were a part of the Pune-based franchise.

There were also a couple of players who played just one season for the Rising Pune Supergiant team in their IPL careers and then disappeared from the competition. Here’s a list of those two players.

2. Peter Handscomb

Another Australian player to feature on the list is Peter Handscomb. The right-handed batter played just one innings for Pune, where he scored six runs against the Mumbai Indians. He lost his wicket to Harbhajan Singh, and after that he never batted in the Premier League.

Handscomb has done well in T20 cricket. However, he has never got another opportunity to play in the IPL.
