The Chargers and the Warriors scored 92 runs in their 10 runs. At one stage, the Chargers needed only 13 runs for a win off 20 balls with seven wickets in hand. Former Pakistan cricketers Sohail Khan and Shahid Afridi then helped the Warriors made a dramatic comeback and bowl the Chargers out for 92 runs.

In the Super Over, Texas scored 15 runs, while New York managed 13 and lost by two runs. Interestingly, there were two such players in the Texas squad who won the IPL 2009 season with the Deccan Chargers. Here’s a list of the two names.

    1. Fidel Edwards played for Texas Chargers and Deccan Chargers

Former West Indies fast bowler Fidel Edwards played for the two teams named Chargers. In 2009 IPL, he was a key member of the Deccan pace attack, while in 2023, he opened the bowling for Texas. In the final match, Edwards picked up Kamran Akmal’s wicket on the first ball itself.

Edwards was on strike for the last ball of the 10-over contest as well. He had to score one run for a win, but Shahid Afridi trapped him LBW.

    2. Pragyan Ojha

Pragyan Ojha was also a member of both the Chargers teams. The former Indian left-arm spinner now plays in other leagues around the world. He made his debut in US Masters T10 League for Texas and did a decent job for the team. Ojha had played a big role in Deccan’s championship win back in 2009.
