Gujarat Titans have grabbed the headlines today although it is not for something related to on-field action. As per a report by the Economic Times, the Titans have decided to sell a majority of stake in the franchise, which is owned by CVC Capital’s Irelia Sports India Private Limited.

Back in late 2021, Irelia Sports India Private Limited bought the Ahmedabad-based franchise for approximately USD 745 million. Now, the franchise is valued between 1 to 1.5 billion dollars, and the owners have decided to retain just a minority of the stake.

Rumors are rife that Gautam Adani, who owns the Gujarat Giants and Gulf Giants cricket teams, may invest in IPL. If there is a change in ownership before the mega auction, the following two GT players might leave the franchise.

    1. Rashid Khan can join Mumbai Indians and leave Gujarat Titans before IPL 2025

Rashid Khan is one of the best T20I cricketers on the planet right now. He has proven himself as a game-changer with the bat and ball for Afghanistan as well as other franchises. The Afghanistan skipper has played for MI New York, MI Emirates and MI Cape Town teams in his T20 career.

In fact, he has even captained MI’s franchises, and since he has a good relationship with the Ambani family, he could head to Mumbai Indians. In IPL 2024, MI desperately needed a finisher and a spinner. Rashid can do both jobs. Considering his successful history with Hardik Pandya, Rashid would love to reunite with him.

    2. David Miller

David Miller has been associated with Rajasthan Royals in the past. He moved to Gujarat Titans in 2022, but in other leagues like SA20 and CPL, he has been associated with teams owned by the Royals. If the Royals offer him a massive contract, which includes playing for them in all leagues, perhaps, the South African stalwart can quit Gujarat and head to Rajasthan for the next IPL season.
