Like the previous edition of the league, the 10 teams have been divided into two groups. Teams in the same group will play against each other twice. Teams in the opposite groups will play against each other once, while the teams having the mirror opponent in opposite groups will play twice as well.

The Indian Premier League will return to the home and away format in IPL 2023, with each franchise playing seven home matches and seven away games. All teams will be returning to their home venues after almost four years, but two teams have decided to use an alternative home venue as well this year. Here’s a list of those two franchises:

    1. Rajasthan Royals have 2 home venues in IPL 2023

Much to the disappointment of the fans living in Rajasthan, the inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals have decided to stage two of their home matches outside the state. Assam’s Barsapara Cricket Stadium will become a new IPL venue in 2023, as it will host two home games of the IPL 2022 runners-up team.

A few days ago, reports claimed that the IPL officials went to Jodhpur to have a look at the Barkatullah Khan Stadium. It seemed like Jodhpur would get some matches this year, but Assam has won the race.

    2. Punjab Kings

Like the last many seasons of the Indian Premier League, the Punjab Kings have used two home venues this year as well. The Mohali-based franchise will play five of their seven matches in Punjab, while the other two matches will happen at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.
