Delhi Capitals have struggled to get going in IPL 2024. The Capitals hold the 10th position in the standings right now with only one win in five matches. Despite having big names like Rishabh Pant, Ishant Sharma, David Warner, Prithvi Shaw, Mitchell Marsh and Tristan Stubbs in the team, DC have failed to fire all cylinders.

Even the presence of champions like Ricky Ponting and Sourav Ganguly in the dressing room is not helping the Delhi Capitals this year. However, DC still have nine matches to go this season, and they can make a comeback if they make the following three changes to their team.

    1. Delhi Capitals should give up on Anrich Nortje and sign Josh Hazlewood as a replacement for Harry Brook

Delhi received a major blow ahead of IPL 2024 as their English recruit Harry Brook pulled out of the competition due to some personal reasons. The Capitals have not named a replacement yet. It looks like they had been waiting to figure out their weakness.

Death bowling is the major weakness of the Capitals in this season. Kuldeep Yadav’s injury break has further derailed the team’s campaign. It’s time for DC to sign Josh Hazlewood and give him Anrich Nortje’s place in the playing XI.

    2. Tristan Stubbs should bat higher in the lineup

It was baffling to see the Capitals promote Abhishek Porel to number three in a run-chase of 235 when they had the likes of Rishabh Pant and Tristan Stubbs waiting in the dugout. Stubbs has been the biggest positive for Delhi this year. DC should probably give him a higher place in the playing XI.

    3. Jake Fraser McGurk in for David Warner

David Warner is an IPL legend, and he scores runs consistently, but his strike rate and intent in the powerplay of late has not been the same. It’s time for DC to try out youngster Jake Fraser McGurk and give him the license to strike big in the powerplay just like Abhishek Sharma and Sunil Narine do for their respective teams.
