Mumbai Indians have expanded themselves into various T20 leagues in the world. Their investments include MI Emirates in International League T20, MI Cape Town in SA20 and MI Women in Women’s Premier League. The newest addition to the list of teams owned by the Ambani family is the team from New York named MI New York in Major League Cricket.

Each franchise has the right to sign some big names as their overseas signings for the MLC T20 tournament. Mumbai Indians did the same today, and here’s a list of three ex MI players from IPL who will play their USA franchise.

    1. Kieron Pollard is likely to captain MI New York

Kieron Pollard was the backbone of the Mumbai Indians franchise from 2010 to 2022. He played an integral role in the team’s five championship wins. In the absence of Rohit Sharma, Pollard even captained the Mumbai Indians. Since he has a ton of experience under his belt, it should not be a surprise if MI New York appoint him as captain.

    2. Trent Boult

New Zealand speedster Trent Boult played for the Mumbai Indians from 2020 to 2021. The left-arm pacer starred in MI’s championship win in IPL 2020. Boult plays for Rajasthan Royals in IPL now, but he will don the MI jersey in USA T20 League.

    3. Nicholas Pooran is also a contender to captain MI New York

Former West Indies captain Nicholas Pooran has also joined the Mumbai Indians’ franchise in MLC. Pooran was a part of the Mumbai Indians IPL team in 2017, and he won a championship with them. However, he never got an opportunity to play for the franchise in the IPL.
