ICC T20 World Cup 2022 is less than a week away. All the 16 teams have begun their respective training and nets sessions for the mega event in Australia. To ensure that there are enough backup options present in the squad, the boards have also sent some reserve players with the main squad.

Whenever there is an injury or a pullout due to any reason, the reserve player can replace one of the main players in the 15-man squad of his respective nation. The reserve players of a majority of the nations have traveled to Australia so that there are no last-minute travel issues. If a reserve player is present in Australia, he can join the main squad as soon as possible.

The BCCI announced a list of reserve players as well while announcing the squad. However, they have not sent three of the reserves to Australia. Here’s a list of those three names:

Fast-bowling all-rounder Deepak Chahar was among the reserve players for the ICC T20 World Cup. However, he is experiencing stiffness in his back right now. This injury ruled him out of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series against the South African cricket team as well as the ICC T20 World Cup. As a result, he has not gone to Australia.
