3 Indian Stars for whom T20 World Cup 2024 is a make-or-break competition for a longer run with Team India

The Indian selection committee, led by Ajit Agarkar, announced India’s squad a few days ago. The squad had mostly experienced players who have been part of the team for a few years now. Rohit Sharma will be doing the captaincy job, and Hardik Pandya has been given the vice captaincy role, despite his poor IPL performance.

But there were some unlucky players who were part of the setup for years but still got dropped. KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, and Rinku Singh are not part of the squad. But there are a few who got lucky, but the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 can be a make-or-break tournament for them.

    1. Sanju Samson

Despite his poor numbers in T20Is, India has gone with Sanju Samson as the wicketkeeper option along with Rishabh Pant. Samson is in good form in the IPL 2024 and also bats in the middle order to fulfil the requirements. India has selected him over Rahul, Ishan Kishan, Jitesh Sharma, and other keeping options. So if Samson fails to deliver in the T20 World Cup 2024, he might not get another chance.

    2. Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal also gets the benefit of good IPL performances. India has gone with four spinners, and Chahal is one of them. Chahal played his last game for India in August 2023. He hasn’t had many chances in the last couple of years. But this could be his final chance. If he can do well for India, if given a game, he can make it into the ODIs as well.

    3. Shivam Dube

Shivam Dube has done well in the IPL for the last 2–3 seasons but has not gotten a chance with the Indian team. However, India added him to the team in the absence of Hardik Pandya, and he did well. He is also doing well in the IPL 2024, but performing in international cricket is different. Hence, if he can take his good form into the T20 World Cup 2024 as well, there is no doubt he can get a long run after that.
