Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have been a part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) since the inaugural edition of the tournament. The Chennai-based franchise have performed brilliantly in this competition as they have won the title four times and qualified for the playoffs in almost every season which they have played.

Chennai Super Kings have played under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja. The team management believes in backing the players who they have and giving them multiple chances to prove themselves in the middle. It is rare to see Chennai making changes to their playing XI.

Very few players lost their place in the playing XI of Chennai Super Kings just after one match. However, here’s a list of three such foreigners who played only a solitary game for the Super Kings in their IPL careers.

    1. Mark Wood played 1 match for CSK in IPL

England fast bowler Mark Wood has made a name for himself with his pace bowling skills and wicket-taking abilities. Wood has been a match-winner for the England team in white-ball cricket and also made an impact in Test matches whenever he has played.

However, one of the biggest issues for him has been his injuries. Due to constant injuries, Wood has been forced to take lengthy breaks from cricket. Even in IPL 2018, when he made his debut for Chennai, he got injured and missed the entire season.

    2. Adam Milne played 1 match for CSK in IPL

New Zealand’s fast bowler Adam Milne also played just a solitary game in 2022. He had a similar story as Mark Wood as he got injured after one game and was subsequently released by the team.

    3. Thisara Perera

Former Sri Lankan captain Thisara Perera was a member of the Chennai team that won IPL in 2010. He played one match in that season but could not make much of an impact.
