Delhi Capitals have been one of the most consistent teams in the last few seasons of the Indian Premier League. The Delhi-based franchise finished third in IPL 2019 and then qualified for the finals in IPL 2020. While they could not win the trophy, DC topped the points table in IPL 2021 and made it to the playoffs again.

Ahead of IPL 2022, Delhi Capitals were forced to release a majority of their players because of the mega auction rules. The team owners formed a new-look squad. However, the new team of DC could not finish in the Top 4. They narrowly missed out on a place in the playoffs after losing against the Mumbai Indians in their last league game.

According to a report by Cricbuzz, Delhi are now looking to get release three players from their squad ahead of the IPL 2023 Mini Auction. Here’s a list of those three names:

    1. Delhi Capitals may release Shardul Thakur

All-rounder Shardul Thakur was one of the most expensive signings made by the Capitals at the previous auction. Thakur joined the franchise at 10.75 crore. However, the former Chennai Super Kings star could not perform the way he did for his ex-franchise. As a result, the Delhi-based franchise are looking to release him and then buy him back at a cheaper price, if possible.

    2. KS Bharat

KS Bharat emerged as a top performer for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2021. However, because of Rishabh Pant’s presence, he did not get enough opportunities to showcase his talent in the DC jersey last year. DC are planning to release him.

    3. Delhi Capitals may release Mandeep Singh

Former Punjab Kings star Mandeep Singh had a forgettable season with DC last year. As the team has opening options like David Warner and Prithvi Shaw, they are thinking to release Mandeep.
