Since David Warner himself has been struggling with the bat, the DC team management may drop him from the team. 1. Axar Patel can replace David Warner as Delhi Capitals captain
The number one candidate to replace Warner as the DC captain is Axar Patel. The all-rounder has been performing well with the bat in IPL 2023. He has been a bit underutilized with the ball. Patel is the vice-captain of DC in IPL 2023.
In case the Capitals drop David Warner as the captain, the next candidate to lead the team will be Axar Patel. It will be interesting to see how he leads the team if given an opportunity.
2. Prithvi Shaw can replace David Warner as Delhi Capitals captain
Prithvi Shaw has been with Delhi in IPL since his debut season. Delhi have backed him a lot through his ups and downs. He is a former U-19 World Cup winning captain as well, which is why DC can think of naming him as their new captain.
3. Rovman Powell
An unlikely candidate for this job is Rovman Powell. DC may not prefer having another foreign captain after Warner’s failure, but if they prefer to go for an experienced option than Powell is a good alternative.
