IPL 2023 is less than six months away. The reverse countdown to the mini auction has started, and as always, it should be a blockbuster event. The 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League will mark the first time in the tournament’s history that two consecutive seasons will take place with 10 teams each.
Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants, Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings will compete with each other to win the prestigious trophy.
There are some players like Ben Stokes, Tom Banton, Kyle Jamieson and Jofra Archer who will make a comeback in the league after a gap of one or two years. On the other hand, there are also three such players who could make a return after more than 5 years. They have put their names in the auction. Here is a list of those three players:
1. Rilee Rossouw can return in IPL 2023
South Africa’s hard-hitting batter Rilee Rossouw played his last IPL season back in 2015 for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He has put himself in the 2 crore band for this year’s auction. It will be interesting to see which team picks him.
2. David Wiese can return in IPL 2023
David Wiese has also registered himself for the upcoming auction. The Namibian star played his last IPL game for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2016. He has set a base price of 1 crore with the aim that at least one franchise will show interest in his services.
3. Travis Head
Australian batter Travis Head played his last IPL season in 2017 for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He has registered himself for the upcoming auction with a base price of 2 crore as well. It will be interesting to see if he earns a contract.
