The Indian Premier League is undoubtedly the number one cricket league in the world right now. It is the only T20 competition where Indian players combine forces with the foreign stars and play together. Thanks to the IPL, the fans have got to witness epic combinations in the same playing XI like Sourav Ganguly-Ricky Ponting, Sachin Tendulkar-Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist-Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli-AB de Villiers, Virender Sehwag-David Warner and so on.

Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Chennai Super Kings are the three most popular teams in IPL history. Mumbai owns the record for the most title wins in IPL history, whereas Chennai is right behind them. One interesting record held by CSK is that they have qualified for the top four every year that they have played.

On the other side, Bangalore has qualified for three IPL finals, but have failed to win a single championship. The main reason why fans still prefer that franchise is the dream combination of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. Earlier, even Chris Gayle was also a part of the team and together they were known as the most dangerous trio in IPL.

3.Parthiv Patel

Gujarat’s left-handed wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel started his career with the Chennai Super Kings. MS Dhoni allowed him to keep the wickets, but the franchise released him in the year 2010. Parthiv had played 26 games for the Yellow franchise.

He became a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2014. Patel played 12 games for the Bangalore-based franchise and managed to score 205 runs at an average of 20.50. He later moved to Mumbai Indians and played three seasons for them.

During the mega auction in 2018, Mumbai decided to release him from the squad. RCB bought him again and for the last three years, he has been a part of the Virat Kohli-led outfit only.

2.Tim Southee

Very few IPL fans might know that Tim Southee is the only foreign player in IPL history to have played for Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Chennai Super Kings. The Kiwi bowler began his IPL journey with the MS Dhoni-led franchise and picked up four wickets in five matches during 2011 season.

CSK released him soon and five years later, Southee received a bid from the Mukesh Ambani-owned Mumbai Indians in the auction. Southee played 11 games for Mumbai, scalping nine wickets in 2016. Next year, his performance dipped as he ended the season with just three wickets to his name.

After his release, Royal Challengers Bangalore managed to sign him in the auction. Unfortunately, that signing proved to be a disaster as Southee conceded runs to the opponents at a hammering rate. Last year, he had an economy rate of 13.11 while playing for Bangalore.

1.Karn Sharma

Indian leg-spin bowler Karn Sharma is majorly known for his excellent run with the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. He even earned his maiden India cap after his impressive performance for the Orange Army. However, it is a lesser-known fact that Karn made it to the finals of IPL in 2009 as a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore.

He joined SRH in 2013, and after a brief stint with them, he became a part of Mumbai Indians in IPL 2017. Mumbai won the title that year and Karn shone for them with 13 wickets in 9 matches. Surprisingly, MI did not prefer to him retain him next year.

Chennai Super Kings team management felt that Karn would enjoy bowling at Chepauk, so they purchased him next. In the two seasons he has played for CSK till now, Sharma has scalped 5 wickets in 7 games.
