    Road Safety World Series 2022 will start this Saturday at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. Apart from Kanpur, Indore, Dehradun and Raipur will also play host to the matches featuring retired cricketers this year. India Legends won the first edition of this competition.

    There are seven more teams in the Road Safety Series this year. They are Bangladesh Legends, Australia Legends, England Legends, South Africa Legends, Sri Lanka Legends, West Indies Legends and New Zealand Legends. Squads for all eight teams have been announced.

    Interestingly, three players who went unsold at the IPL 2021 Mini Auction have got a place in the legends team for this tournament. Here’s a list of those three names.

    1. Rahul Sharma will play for India Legends in Road Safety World Series 2022

    Former Indian leg-spinner Rahul Sharma announced his retirement just a few days ago. He will be playing under Sachin Tendulkar’s captaincy for the India Legends team. Sharma was a part of the pool of players for IPL Auction 2021. His base price was INR 50 lakh.

    “Tendulkar remembered how badly I wanted to play competitive cricket again and offered me this chance to play in the Road Safety World Series. I have decided to start my second innings with this league,” Sharma said in a recent interview.

    2. Thisara Perera will play for Sri Lanka Legends in Road Safety World Series 2022

    Former Sri Lankan skipper Thisara Perera will be in action playing for the Sri Lanka Legends in this year’s RSWS 2022. The Sri Lankan side finished as the runners-up last year. It will be interesting to see if Perera can help the team win this year.

    3. Isuru Udana

    Just two years ago, Isuru Udana was one of the main overseas players for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. He went unsold in IPL 2021 and now will represent the Sri Lanka Legends team.
