Brett Lee is celebrating his 47th birthday today. The right-arm fast bowler made a name for himself with his fantastic bowling performances for the Australian cricket team. Shedding some light on his numbers in international cricket, Lee picked up 310 wickets in 76 Test matches.
In the ODI format, Lee accounted for 380 wickets in 221 matches, while in T20Is, he took 28 wickets in 25 matches for Australia. He played for Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL. In total 38 matches, he bagged 25 wickets in the IPL.
On his 47th birthday today, we will look at the three such records of Brett Lee, which no other cricketer has achieved.
1. Only bowler to take hat-trick in T20 and ODI World Cup
The bowlers are always under pressure when playing at the grand stage of World Cups. Be it T20 World Cup or ODI World Cup, the bowlers are under pressure to deliver the goods for their teams.
While quite a few top bowlers have failed at the grand stage, Brett ended up taking a hat-trick each in ODI and T20 World Cup. He took a hat-trick against Kenya in 2003 ODI World Cup and a hat-trick against Bangladesh in 2007 T20 World Cup.
2. Brett Lee was the fastest to pick 300 wickets in ODIs
Lee was a wicket-taking bowler for the Australian cricket team. The former Australian pacer owns the record for being the quickest to 300 wickets in the ODI format. Lee achieved the feat in 171 matches, a record which no bowler has been able to break.
3. Only bowler with more than 1 5-wicket haul in ODIs at Lord’s
