Akash Deep was an expensive purchase for LSG at the Mega Auctions. However, he did not come good. Here, we take a look at the list of three teams which could target Akash Deep if he is released by LSG.
As a second or third Indian pacer, Akash Deep fits the bill. Especially with the Impact Player Rule, he can still be an option for a few teams for IPL 2026.
1) Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals need to sign some new Indian pacers. Tushar Deshpande was in poor form, while Sandeep Sharma was not at his best. Akash may not be able to lead the attack, but he offers value as a backup pacer.
2) Sunrisers Hyderabad is one of the teams which could target Akash Deep if he is released by LSG
SRH is sure to release Mohammed Shami before the next season. There are not too many options to replace him. That said, SRH can take a bet on Akash Deep and back him to come good, especially in the power play. Hence, SRH is on this list.
3) Delhi Capitals
Delhi Capitals could want a good powerplay bowler for the next season. In this regard, Akash Deep would be a decent fit for the franchise. On his day, he can pick a few wickets with the new ball. He could partner well with Mukesh Kumar, with whom he plays at Bengal.
