To spread the game of cricket to newer regions, the International Cricket Council has increased the number of teams. In the first T20 World Cup which happened in 2007, there were only 12 teams, but the number has gone up 16 now. In 2024, the number will go up to 20 when the USA and West Indies host the tournament.

In the last 15 years, many different teams have won the mega event and took the trophy home. West Indies are the only team to have won it twice. While the Men in Maroon have won the championship twice, there have been three such participants in the tournament’s history that have not won even a single match. Here’s a list of those three teams.

    1. UAE has lost all 5 matches in T20 World Cup

UAE is one of the major cricketing hubs in Asia. The Gulf nation has played host to big tournaments like IPL and Asia Cup in the recent past. However, the cricket team of UAE is not so strong. They have played in five matches at the grand stage so far and lost all five of them.

    2. Papua New Guinea

Papua New Guinea made their debut at the grand stage last year in Oman. They were a part of the Round 1 of the mega event, where they suffered defeats against Oman, Bangladesh and Scotland to crash out of the tournament in the first round.

    3. Kenya

African side Kenya made it to the semifinals of the 50-over World Cup back in 2003. However, in the shortest format of the game, they have made it to the mega event only once. They appeared in the 2007 edition of the tournament and lost their group matches against New Zealand and Sri Lanka.
