The competition level in cricket is quite high, and very few of the participating nations can themselves world champions in this sport. The ODI WC started in the year 1975, whereas the inaugural edition of the T20 WC happened in 2007. In this listicle now, we will look at the three teams which have been a part of all the editions of mega events played so far but yet to win a trophy.

    1. New Zealand have been the unluckiest team in Cricket World Cup history

New Zealand is the only team which has participated in all editions of the ODI WC and T20 WC but never become the world champions in any of the two formats. The Blackcaps have qualified for the finals of the ODI WC in 2015 and 2019, while they also made it to the T20 WC 2021 Final.

In 2015 and 2021, the Australian cricket team stopped the Blackcaps from becoming the world champions. In 2019, a rule from ICC books stopped the New Zealand team from taking the trophy home.

    2. South Africa

South Africa is another team which has been consistent in the group stage matches but faltered when it mattered the most. While they have not participated in all the ODI WCs, they have been a part of all the T20 WCs played so far and won none.

    3. Bangladesh

Bangladesh cricket team is the only Asian side on this list. They have qualified for all the editions of the T20 WC played thus far. Although Bangladesh made it to the Super 8s in the inaugural edition, they are yet to qualify for the semifinals even once in the mega event’s history.
